SoFlo Performance's Miles Mead delivered a perfect 4-for-4 performance at National Speed Skating Circuit (NSC) 38, dominating the Endurance division, becoming the "Fastest Man on Skates," and capturing the Grand Champion title and coveted Black Suit.
Rising to the Challenge at NSC 38 🔥
On July 8th, 2026, the National Speed Skating Circuit (NSC) 38 brought together many of the fastest professional inline speed skaters in the country for an exciting night of racing in Lincoln, Nebraska. The unique competition format separates athletes into Sprint and Endurance divisions, creating a true test of speed, versatility, and race strategy. Athletes first compete within their respective specialties before the top performers advance to the night's featured events.
Competing against some of the best skaters in the sport, Miles Mead put together a complete performance that showcased every part of what makes a champion—endurance, sprint speed, tactical awareness, and the ability to deliver when the pressure was highest.
Dominating the Endurance Division 🥇
Competing in the Endurance division, Miles opened the evening with a commanding victory in the 1000m before backing it up with another win in the 1600m. Sweeping both endurance races secured his place among the night's top qualifiers and set the stage for the final challenges of the evening.
Fastest Man on Skates ⚡
Next came one of NSC's signature events: the 100-meter Time Trial, where the top endurance skaters and sprinters faced off to determine the "Fastest Man on Skates."
Despite racing against the event's elite sprinters, Miles produced another outstanding performance, stopping the clock with the fastest time of the night to earn the title and improve to 3-for-3 on the evening.
A Championship Finish 👑
With the title of Fastest Man on Skates already secured, Miles turned his attention to the night's final challenge—the 800m Grand Champion Race, where the top endurance skaters and sprinters battled for the coveted NSC Black Suit.
Miles attacked aggressively from the start, looking to establish himself near the front. Although he was shuffled into the middle of the pack during the opening laps, he stayed composed and methodically worked his way back into contention. With 400 meters remaining, he had climbed back into third place, keeping the leaders within striking distance.
Just before two laps to go, Caiden Haynes launched a powerful attack, opening nearly a 20-meter gap over the field. Rather than panic, Miles immediately responded, passing Aden Sailor and Ashton Hale before setting his sights on the leader.
Sensing the opportunity, Miles relentlessly closed the gap. He reeled Haynes back in and, on the final lap, completed the pass to claim victory, finish a perfect 4-for-4, capture the NSC 38 Grand Champion title, and take home the coveted Black Suit.
