SoFlo Performance athletes delivered a dominant performance at the 2026 American Championships in Missouri, securing multiple podium finishes, a spectacular mixed relay victory, and a division title before capturing a massive cash payout at the elite Race of Champions.
RESULTS: 2026 AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2026 American Championships wrapped up this week at the Piccadilly Palace in Union, Missouri (June 16–20), and the SoFlo Performance team left a massive mark on the national stage. Piper Leazier and Miles Mead put together a dominant weekend of racing against the top athletes in the country.
Here is how the week broke down:
PIPER LEAZIER | DIVISION CHAMPION 🥇
Piper completely controlled the tone of her division, taking the overall title by winning all three of her individual events. Instead of waiting for the races to develop, she executed a confident front-runner strategy. She was aggressive in her sprint efforts and used timely, tactical attacks in her long-distance race, forcing the rest of the field to react to her moves.

MILES MEAD | DIVISION RUNNER-UP 🥈
Miles put on an absolute masterclass in resilience, overcoming three separate crashes throughout the day—including two heartbreaking falls while "hawking" at the finish line. Showing incredible physical and mental toughness, he still managed to capture a brilliant second place overall in the division, highlighted by a dominant win in the special 1-lap 100m time trial.

MIXED RELAY CHAMPIONS 🏆
The duo combined forces to take gold in the 3000m Mixed Relay. Piper’s relentless, consistent pacing kept the team locked into striking distance, setting the stage perfectly for Miles to utilize his explosive closing speed to seal the victory and bring home the title.
RACE OF CHAMPIONS 💰
Following their stellar performances in the division races, both skaters advanced to the prestigious Race of Champions to go head-to-head with the absolute best of the best from the other age divisions. Miles kept his momentum rolling against the country's top elite skaters, putting on a spectacular performance and walking away with a well-deserved $1,700 payout. Piper continued the momentum from her division win to fight hard against a hyper-competitive field, coming away just missing the podium in a highly respectable 4th place.
WHAT'S NEXT?
There is still plenty of racing left this season for these two powerhouse skaters, who serve as a phenomenal example for our younger generation of athletes coming up. Up next, Piper and Miles will return to training as they prepare for the Indoor National Championships, alongside appearances in the upcoming National Speed Skating Circuit (NSC) event—the 38th installment of this prestigious, invitation-only showcase.
Congratulations to our athletes for representing SoFlo Performance so proudly on the national stage—the hard work is paying off, and we can't wait to see what they do next!
